Amazing Axolotl

Our world is full of amazing stuff. There are a lot of interesting things that we don’t know. Can you imagine or do you know anyone that can regrow its cut-off limbs again.
Anyone…. Think again….Anyone….
Some of you might know that lizards can re-grow their tail if it’s cut. Some other salamanders can regrow, some parts of their limbs. But the Axolotl…. It’s amazing.
Axolotl is a salamander and their natural habitat is only central Mexico. Axolotl is found in the lake of Mexico City.  These creatures are found more in the labs than anywhere else. This is because the Axolotl is one of nature’s scrappiest creatures with a unique ability to baffled scientists for decades.

According to Dr. James Godwin, they are pretty amazing actually. They are famous for their ability to regenerate extreme structures like limbs and we all know the it’s the only terrestrial animal that can regrow a limb and the only vertebrate that can regrow a limb. So if you amputate at the level of the wrist, you regenerate the hand. If you amputate the upper arm, you regenerate a full arm.

There is a huge list of structures that they can regenerate. They can regenerate their brain called telencephalon. You can crush the spinal cord and I about three weeks, all the spinal cord machinery would reconnect and the tail and the legs will work again. They can regenerate impressively their testes. But most importantly, they can regenerate like a third of the heart ventricle. So if you amputate or injure a third of the heart, of the pumping machine of the heart, it will regrow that in the course of about 30 days to 60 days. Comparative to humans, where a tiny, little blockage in our heart vessel will lead to extreme damage and eventually death, these guys are pretty amazing,”

No matter how many times you cut its limbs, it will regrow them seamlessly and perfectly without any scar. It has 1000 times more immunity against cancer with respect to other animals. If humans can learn its abilities, it will be very beneficial. No one will be disable and have more immunity against cancer. Research is going on and it may be possible in near future. But this innocent animal is on its extinction. You can keep it in your aquarium as a pet. It has a good life span of around 15 years too.
