Tuesday the 13th
In Spain and Spanish speaking countries, Tuesday the 13th
is considered a bad day. Tuesday is supposed as the day of war, death and
bloodshed as in Spanish, Tuesday is called Martes which comes from the Roman
god of war, Mars.
Trimming Nails At Night
In Turkey, India and South Korea, it’s supposed a bad
luck to trim your finger or toenails at night or after dark. A Japanese superstition
claims premature death if you trim your nails after dark. May be it’s because,
knives or other sharp tools would be used to trim nails and there would be danger
of deadly infection, in case of injury that could result in premature death due
to lack or difficult access to medical facilities in those times.
Black Cats
In the United States and in India the black cats have a
very bad reputation. In the US black cats are associated with the witches. If a
Black cat crosses your path is supposed a very bad luck in India and many
change their path or return back.
Crows
In South Korea, crows are considered as bad luck and even
harbingers of death.
Purse or Wallet on the Ground
In Philippines and in some Central and South American countries
it is said that resting your purse or wallet on ground will lead to bad
financial luck.
Sitting Suddenly on the Cold Ground
According to a Russian superstition, Sitting suddenly on
the cold ground can lead to a women never having children.
Whistling
According to Russians, whistling indoors leads to
financial problems. While the Norwegian supposes, whistling in the sun causes
rain. In Lithuania, whistling indoors is believed to summon demons.
Bird Poop
According to a Russian superstition, bird poop that lands
on you or something that belong to you will bring you wealth. So next time, keep I mind when you are under
a tree.
Dog Poop
In France, Stepping in dog poop is a bad luck. But
stepping in with your left foot is considered a good luck. It’s bad luck only
if you step in with your right foot. So mind it.
Eating Goat Meat
In Rwanda, it is supposed that eating goat meat by women
will cause them to grow facial hair. Many superstitious women don’t eat goat
meat just because of this fear.
