Dolphins are known for being smart, intelligent and playful
creatures that can learn and perform wonderful tricks. But you might not know
that the Dolphins are also from the family of whales or do you know dolphins

There are about 40
species of dolphins around the world. While most of them live in salted water
many can live in sweet water. Dolphins are marine creatures and mostly found
near the coastal regions. Dolphins are from the family of whales. The killer
whale, Ocra, is actually a dolphin. Dolphins are carnivores and chiefly eat
fish and squid. Dolphins have small conical teeth but they don’t chew their
food with them. Dolphins use to swallow their food. Dolphins use their teeth to

Depending on the
species, gestation in dolphins is 9 to 17 months. Dolphins typically give birth
to one calf. Twins are rare. Dolphins usually give birth in spring. The calf
will nurse from 11 months to 2 years, and after it is done nursing it will
still stay with its mother until it is between 3 and 8 years old.
Dolphins are known for
their social and playful behavior and that’s why dolphins are favorite of
humans. Dolphins like to play. They also interact with humans and other animal
and play with them as well. Dolphins live in groups and in there may be 4-5
individuals to thousands of dolphins in one pod. Dolphins are very intelligent
animal. They name themselves and call each other with their specific names. Dolphins
communicate with one another underwater by making a variety of vocalizations.
